The U S circuit court in Indiana permanently enjoins ninety two members of the National Wholesale Druggists Assoc tri partite and Bombaugh from combining to restrain trade in drugs. They are forbidden to publish blacklists or to fix prices by agreement. All contracts and agreements under the charges are void.
The decree mandating drug sale schedules was dictated by government attorneys and agreed to by the defendants, ending litigation with a complete government victory.
In Baltimore on May 9 the Susan B Anthony Memorial Fund of 60000 dollars to advance equal suffrage was completed. The plan originated at the National Women's Suffrage convention in Baltimore last February. A committee led by Miss Mery Garrett and Miss M Carrie Thomas oversaw the drive, with subscriptions finished by April 29.

Chicago May 9 Suburban passenger train No. 114 on the Chicago Burlington and Quincy line between Aurora and Chicago derailed near Lawndale six miles from the city. Several passengers were killed and about twenty injured when a broken rail caused the engine to leave the track and drag three cars down a small embankment. Ambulances were summoned from west side police stations.
New York May 9 The strike by longshoremen grows more serious as loading and unloading slows freight moves poorly and piers clog with awaiting shipments. Company managers insist on no concessions while strike leaders say the workers remain united and hopes of an end to the trouble fade.
In Cincinnati on May 9 Judson Harmon spoke at the Hotel Linton banquet to hundreds of delegates and spouses attending three national supply and machinery dealer associations. He discussed experiences of a lawyer in the railroad business and outlined views on conducting railroads within existing laws. George Puchta chaired and introduced Harmon briefly.
Washington May 9 A War Department statement explains General William S McCaskey was promoted over Brigadier General Frederick Funston after Funston said he had no objection to the elevation because of McCaskey's soldierly record and Civil War service.
Riots in the Cosseek village of Kavkazskaia near Yekaterinoslav claim twenty-one lives. Troops have been sent in to quell the disorder.
William D Haywood secretary of the Western Federation of Miners faces a life trial for alleged involvement in Governor Steunenberg’s assassination. The court conducted five hours of juror questioning with no verdict, adjourned until Monday as a special panel of 100 potential jurors is summoned. Mrs Haywood sits near her husband in an invalid chair as jury panels are formed and witnesses endorsed.
