The 1928 plan assigns West Virginia Virginia and Baltimore areas to Denny with Edwin D Mouton presiding.

Yakima Washington May 5 Herbert Hoover secured the support of Washington seven teen delegates to the Republican national convention as the state convention approved delegates instructed to back Hoover's presidential bid.
A band of seven moonshiners suspected of seeking revenge for informer tips fired on the Browning family home at Brownington Kentucky. Mrs Kate Browning 60 was shot and died as she fled. Her sister Mrs Lou Browning and four children were wounded. Ben Browning disappeared.
Flood warnings sent Saluda valley residents fleeing as the dam’s flood gate was finally unlocked raising outflows and easing pressure on the saluda river flood risk. Engineers opened the gate after ropes failed to work the key, reducing lake level and slowing sloughing at the dam base.

Harold Saunders died at St Luke’s Hospital at 1 10 this morning after a Friday evening crash in front of his parents home on College Avenue. The child suffered a base skull fracture, broken ribs and other severe injuries and had been unconscious since the accident. Albert Thornhill was found guilty of dangerous driving, fined 100 and jailed 30 days, with bond posted. Donohue declined to sit on the case.
Frank Williams, who escaped from Kanawha county jail while awaiting trial for assault on a South Charleston schoolgirl, was arrested in Ashland Kentucky and returned to Charleston. A total reward of 900 dollars, including 600 from Governor Gore, had been posted for his capture.
Owen Oberst, 17, confessed to shooting his parents and five siblings on April 20 near Burne Kansas, then setting the Oberst farmhouse ablaze. He said he killed after his father refused to let him use the car, took $41, and imbued the house with kerosene before fleeing to Florence.
