The Women's Society of Christian Service met at the Eckman church with Mrs. William Odham leading devotions. Officers elected: C. H. Brown president, Bill Odham vice president, Clarence Nester treasurer, Roy Crisco recording secretary, Dorothy David youth work, John Lafferty promotion secretary, Bill Odham children’s work. Installation planned for May 18.

Stork Shower Honors Mrs Tony Casali At Kimball Church
Mrs Tony Casali was honored Friday night at a pink and blue shower in the Kimball Church recreation room. Hostesses included Mapseline Van Fleet and several neighbors. Gifts were presented by Elwood Brown who read a humorous verse. The party featured pink and blue decor, games, and gifts like a car chair and baby bed.

Outing for Scouts had 40 youths with senior p agers chaperoned by Johnston and Grego. Tuesday Afternoon Bridge Club notes high scores and bingo results. Carswell Women's Society April 21 program featured The Healing of the Women with 12 members and guest. Polyanna gifts exchanged and officers to be elected for the new Carswell church building project underway by Coalfield Land Co.

Principles of Historical Geology Highlight Tazewell Meeting
Mrs. T L Ridout spoke on the Principles of Historical Geology at the North Tazewell Woman's Club meeting. She reviewed Theodore Ridout's Virginia geology work, showed local mineral specimens, and noted a coal fern leaf imprint and quartz-like stone from Gratton. Officers elected included President Mrs Kermitt Monk and several vice presidents, secretary, treasurer, and chaplain. The club approved sponsoring Miss Freda Williams, a Tazewell High student, to attend State in Blacksburg in June.

AEP Employees Feted At Dinner In Pocahontas
Employees of the Appalachian Electric Power Company enjoyed a Friday evening dinner at the AEP office in Pocahontas Virginia. Mrs. George E. Adams and Mrs. Lawrence Hill served the meal.
