Prince William County police say Douglas Ragland of Dumfries was arrested after a banana wrapped in a scarf helped him rob a gas station and then flee. Abandonment case set for April trial in Bland County
A Woodbridge couple, Lorne Cooper and Cassandra Cooper, face arraignment in Bland County General District Court after being charged with attempting child abuse and neglect. The couple, accused of abandoning their 11 year old daughter on I 77 near Bland, waived extradition and await a trial date of April 20 with defense counsel Kaase and Chitwood. Candice Cooper, 11, was found by a minister near Beckley and is in social service protection. Jacob, 5, is also in protective custody.
