District Attorney Guy B Moore says investigations focus on whether Jimerson used ventriloquism to influence Nancy Bowen a 66 year old woman who admitted wielding the hammer that killed Mrs Marchand. Bowen says she killed the French widow believing she was a witch. Jimerson and Bowen will be tried for first degree murder after Jimerson’s case is resolved with Bowen linked to translated Ouija board messages attributed to Bowen’s late husband.
Five transcontinental railroads cut east west travel time by one hour and fifteen minutes on fast crack trains. The Great Northern Milwaukee Northern Pacific Northwestern and Union Pacific announced new schedules effective March 30, reducing westbound time to 61? hours while eastbound times stay at 61? hours.

New York March 22 The North German Lloyd liner Europa sailed eastward on her maiden voyage to America despite heavy seas and headwinds. She covered 703 miles in the first full day, averaging 28.15 knots, while her sister Bremen had logged 687 miles on its maiden voyage last July under better conditions.
New Castle Pa March 22 Irene Schroeder has been convicted of murder and will face the electric chair as W Glenn Dague a former Wheeling auto salesman stands trial Monday for the same crime. His attorneys plan a motion for a new trial and possible appeals to the state supreme court and pardon board.
