A public school roof collapsed in Turango during classes killing eight pupils and a teacher and injuring many others. Rescue teams expect more fatalities as victims remain buried under debris amid a crowded classroom. The incident was reported by Associated Press from Terreen, Mexico, dated March 19.
Acting Secretary of War Oliver was directed to extend relief to Wellsburg West Virginia where the town is submerged. The mayor and postmaster requested help and tents and rations may be issued if needed as other sources are slow.

Ashland Ky March 19 Two murders and an avenger followed one man’s act at Hallier Ky. In Southern Virginia Frank Dutton and Alcene Rose eloped and fled. A brother tracked them to Helsler where a pistol duel killed Dutton and wounded Elias Dutton. Dutton fled to the mountains as a posse pursues.
