Community Week in Bluefield Opens March 29
The Bluefield Community Week aims to inventory city business, education, religion and social conditions to improve weak areas. A year later the city score will gauge progress, with Bluefield residents scoring the results themselves under referee guidance from University Extension staff. The annual Bluefield Council Travelers meeting on March 21 includes initiation, officer elections, a banquet at The Hotel Weast Virginian, and speeches by Floyd Smoot and Matt Miser.
