Expressway power line route altered to avoid interchanges
The Coalfields Expressway project received approval in both West Virginia and Virginia for minor adjustments to the power line route to avoid highway interchanges. The changes, each under 1,000 feet, move the line away from developable interchanges and toward a routing near Jackson's Ferry substation. Construction could begin after regulatory approvals, with service aimed for mid-2006 as regional electricity demand climbs since 1973.
