Diesel spill after Norfolk Southern derailment near Grassy Branch
Four locomotives and fourteen rail cars derailed near U S Route 19 in Grassy Branch. About 8 000 gallons of diesel spilled into the East River, Hazmat crews and firefighters worked over 12 hours to contain the spill, dams were built to skim fuel, and Route 19 remained closed as cleanup continued.
