Tazewell Faces 700000 Balance Into New Fiscal Year

Norman Cook, Tazewell County assistant administrator, reports a 700000 balance from 1981 82 going into the 1983 84 budget to offset expected revenue losses from repealed utility and auto decal taxes. He notes the year will be cautious with a conservative budget and that the 82 percent share of the county budget goes to the schools. Last year’s budget stood at 27383420.

Chicago man guilty in dynamite case in West Virginia

David Llaguno, 27, was found guilty in U S District Court of receiving stolen dynamite, conspiracy, and interstate transportation without a permit. Mercer County Board Approves 30.8 Million Budget

The Mercer County Board of Education approved a 1983 84 budget of 30 890 370 in a 10 day public review plan and scheduled a March 24 hearing. The proposal increases by 2 058 201 over the current year with most costs fixed and a press briefing set for Monday.
