Graham voters approved a $15,000 water works bond issue by a unanimous 55 to 0 vote. The sale will occur soon as part of a long debated plan to provide efficient water service without overburdening the town.
Harrison county records admit a $75,000,000 mortgage by the B and O railroad to Union Trust Company of New York. The lien covers all B and O lines in Pennsylvania Ohio and West Virginia and aims to consolidate debts with issued bonds totaling $20,000,000 already. Bonds mature 1925 with 4 percent interest and extendable to 1941. L. E. F. Loree signs as president and C. W. Woolford as secretary.
Local notice states Sam is selling remaining heaters at cost to attract buyers. The message urges immediate purchase to save money and identifies the seller as M G WurrLow.

January Beech Creek coke shipments reached 23 442 tons. Pennsylvania railroad tonnage from January to February 15 totaled 1 099 222 tons, up 132 276 tons or 12 percent from last year. Norfolk and Western 11 months to November 30 1901 rose slightly to 1 363 150 tons vs 1 351 785 in 1900. Tidewater moved 94 159 tons in 1901 vs 92 956 in 1900. Chesapeake and Ohio for July to November 1901 edged up to 130 675 tons from 155 982 in 1900. Of 1001 shipments 154 095 tons were New River coke and 36 680 tons Kanawha, with westward movement driving the gain. Connections yielded 3 207 tons in 1901 vs 4 490 in 1900, and 1801 over 1900 reached 100 732 tons.
Parkersburg West Virginia March 8 The state superintendent of schools Thomas Miller ordered a stop to Mormon elders holding services in schools. He notified trustees that Mormons are not a religious denomination under the law and cannot use school facilities. Over 100 elders proselyting across districts and about 8000 converts reported last year. A classified buys and helps section follows.
