STATE LAWMEN Action on bills and amendments continues

D. C. Tabor of Boissevain Virginia forfeited a $51 bond in Municipal court on charges of carrying a concealed weapon. Deputy Buck Adams said Chester Flint 29 of Laurel Creek would be charged with murder over the fatal shotgun shooting of his brother in law Herbert H. Adkins 20 of Laurel Creek. Adkins died in a Beckley hospital from shotgun wounds in the abdomen after visiting Flint's home yesterday. Adkins was briefly detained on an open charge pending the outcome of his condition.

Bland County Dairy Group Plans Protests Over Milk Price Cut
The Bland County Dairy Association held a meeting at the Bland courthouse to plan organized protests against the 1 cent milk price cut affecting Bluefield area distributors who would share half the decrease. About 16 Grade A and double that many Grade C producers exist in Bland, with 1,200 gallons daily, and protests may extend to Wythe, Smith, Tazewell, and Washington counties. Officers are D. The cut took effect yesterday and will lower prices for coffee cream and whipping cream as well.
