Investigators pursue DNA evidence from under the victim’s nails in the 1981 strangling of Charles Boone. The medical examiner will send samples to Charleston for analysis, with results possibly taking one to six months. Officials note the exhumation is rare, but advances in forensic science have solved similar cases nationwide. Residents with information are urged to contact Bluefield Police at 327-6101.
