Lawmakers split on tax bill votes amid party divisions
Senator Tomblin, a Democrat from Logan, says votes are not yet there for a new tax measure. He notes the speaker claims 52 votes against it, and he would not ask Democrats to back the bill unless a majority of five Senate Republicans support it. Only Minority Leader Sprouse, a Republican from Kanawha, backs it so far.
