Local educators honored at Civil Rights Day ceremony
Deloris French of Bluefield and Margaret Pace received 2016 Civil Rights Award Day honors at the Governor's Civil Rights Day event in Charleston. French, active in school integration and East End Citizens Group, thanked organizers after accepting the award from Robert Harrison. Pace, educator for 32 years including Park School principal, remarked on the humbling recognition. The ceremony February 25 at Beni Kedem Shrine Temple highlighted their lifelong work in education.
