Hotel room design shifts risk angering seasoned travelers
Los Angeles AP reports hotels adopt minimalist layouts to attract younger guests with no desks and flex space. Lodging chains like Marriott and Hilton trim closets and dressers, replacing them with hooks, TV trays, or compact desks while emphasizing open bath areas and lobby social spaces. Critics argue desks are essential for work, citing frequent travelers who spend hundreds of nights on the road.
