News arrives of Mrs Estille Thompson wife of a Lug River Lumber Company worker and daughter of Jeremiah Morgan of Littlesburg who drowned when a small outhouse was swept away by rising Tug river floodwaters after Thursday night rain. Her body was recovered downstream about 800 yards from the site and she will be transported to Bluefield on No 4 this morning.
Marriage licenses issued yesterday to Harry Taylor and Bell Duncan while David Thompson a prominent Mercer farmer aged 84 died at Clover Bottom four miles north of town. He leaves children including Mrs Karnes Span ishburg Mrs Bolin Bethel J Milton Thompson Kegley Mrs Mitchell Bruce Bland and K Thompson near Athens. Bluefield Woman's Exchange to display articles and eatables at No 16 Bland Street on Thursday March 6.
