Bodies recovered after West Virginia mine blast

Two cousins Randall G. Roop and Michael E. Roop died when lightning struck while they were testing a wiring problem at High Power Mountain Energy coal mine in Drennen West Virginia. Rescue teams found them under debris as crews finished blasting a 100 foot section. Officials say the exact cause is under investigation.

Soviets propose July talks on SALT II adherence

The Soviet Union proposes that American and Soviet officials meet in Geneva next month to discuss Reagan s decision not to abide by the 1979 strategic arms agreement. Five U S oil firms exit Libya by June 30
