City Fathers Pick Kell As Manager For Municipal Parking Building
City board authorized City Manager E P Mitchell to oversee the parking building as a separate department starting July 1 and hire a manager. William L Kell was recommended by the board for the job among seven applicants. Two coal selling ordinances were adopted to prevent short weight and enforce weighed sales in Bluefield with strict ticketing and penalties. Another ordinance lets the city treasurer charge a fixed fee for out-of-town coal sellers based on truck weight. The board rejected Johnny Hands Hell Drivers’ stunt show at the municipal stadium and scheduled a street inspection for Rock street. Building permits were issued for repairs and additions to several homes, church, and business buildings. Licenses granted to four restaurants across Bluefield avenues.

Little Jimmy Riley Is Found Again In Bluefield
Four year old Jimmy Riley was located last night at 204 Russell Street after spending 15 hours with police the night before. He was handed to the Salvation Army until his father Charles Riley, who works with a carnival at Poca—ontas, could retrieve him. Police received multiple tips but took seven hours to confirm the sighting. Earlier Tuesday he spent the night in the city jail after refusing to identify himself to officers.
