Fatty Arbuckle Death Returns Spotlight On Silent Screen Star
The long troubled life of Fatty Arbuckle ends with his death on Long Island after a comeback attempt. He rose as a top money star despite the Virginia Rappe case which led to his acquittal but shattered his career. Arbuckle married three times and faced protests over morality clauses in films as studios and civic groups pressed for changes. His funeral plans, heavy with public attention, recall the 1926 Valentina remembrances as crowds expected more.
