A Saturday night melee at Graham furnace left about six white men bruised and cut. All posted bond to appear in mayor's court this morning. Meanwhile Graham baseball beat Pocahontas Rexalls 7 to 3 as Longworth drove in two, Wade allowed five singles, and groaning defense saw the Rexalls shut out after the second inning.
A large crowd gathered on the Bluestone River yesterday for four converts to be baptized by Rev. L. M. Cartright. The ceremony marked their wish to join the Baptist church. Cc. W. Keister sold Graham Company’s store to H. Wises of Bedford City with Biges to take charge July 1 under the old firm name. Keister will stay in Graham to pursue other interests.
Dr. Samuel A. Baer departed Sunday for Winchester Virginia to join a summer school program. He will conduct courses and lead sessions as part of the educational initiative.
