Democratic Irish lord meets American hosts at New York dinner
A democratic young Irishman, Lord Clonmel, visits the United States and recovers from pneumonia to attend a Waldorf Astoria stay. In New York he enjoys a private dinner with the Democratic club where ex Sheriff Tom Dunn quips about America. A later anecdote recalls a dinner with Evarts hosting English and French guests.
