Mercer County Man Arrested on Material Possession Charges

Gary Lee Cooper, 50, of Princeton, is jailed on 10 felony counts of possession of child adult material after a Wednesday arrest following a state police search warrant on his computer. He is held on $20,000 bond with GPS monitoring and no visitation until a preliminary hearing set for July 2.

McDowell youths offered summer Aikido program

Tug River Health Association announces a July summer fitness program for McDowell County children teaching basic Aikido. Sessions run Mondays and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. from July 7, for ages 11 to 14, with a 20-child limit. Registration at Tug River Total Fitness Center is required.
