Bluefield hearing set on Route 52 plan to boost U S 52
Representatives from the Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce and the Huntington to Bluefield Highway Association urged the Bluefield city board to back an expanded four lane Route 52 linking with U S 460. A public hearing at 7 30 p m was scheduled to gather citizen input. The plan proposes a new bridge west of Bluefield State College, rerouting Route 52 via Stadium Drive and near Westgate properties in Bluefield Virginia to connect with U S 460 with hopes the corridor becomes I 73. They emphasized maintaining the Easley Bridge during construction and pressed the Virginia Department of Highways for cooperation.

A sunny Princeton SummerFest drew more than 12 000 attendees on Saturday with festival chairman Elizabeth Osborne calling it a fantastic turnout. Buchanan to study county budget through Monday
In Grundy Virginia the Buchanan County Board of Supervisors paused the 1992 93 budget and extended an emergency waste injection wells ordinance. A general budget of 12.8 million and a 32.25 million school budget were reviewed with real estate at 59 cents and personal property at 1 95 per 100 kept. The extension runs 60 days as officials weigh a permanent measure.
