In Mercer county circuit court on the first Monday in June 1901 trustee J M Anderson sues numerous defendants including J W Shirley D E Simpson G B Stevens Blouinson Bates and Starkie Hickinson Bates & Starkie and many corporations. The action seeks to convene creditors of J J Davis and W J Ould trading as Davis Ould and to settle claims and priorities and apply funds held by the plaintiff. Non residents with no service in county include Howard Zeil Cigar Co Pearre Bros Co Vesley Shoe Co Slater Meyers Co Roanoke Grocery Milling Co. Defendants must appear within one month to protect their interests.
