Health subsidies under Senate plan draw centrist concern
Health policy debate centers on premium subsidies and Medicaid changes. Centrist Republicans like Susan Collins urge caution as analyses from CBPP and Kaiser show older and rural residents face large premium and deductible increases. The plan seeks to trim subsidies for older adults while expanding aid for younger workers, with potential impact on states including Kentucky, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.
