Souris River begins slow ebb in flooded Minot
The Souris River retreated slowly from Minot North Dakota with no further flood damage. Officials warn danger remains for several days as water falls about two feet by Wednesday. Levees reinforced with plastic sheeting and crews address isolated issues. Evacuations affected about a quarter of Minot’s 40,000 residents. Downstream towns Sawyer and Velva receive sandbagging as crests approach.
