Princeton Rotary seeks sponsors for Mercer County horse show
Princeton Rotary Club and Mercer County Horseman’s Association plan a three day horse show August 3 to 5 at the Bluestone Valley Fair Spanishburg to raise funds for scholarships at Princeton Senior High School Pike View High School Mercer Christian Academy and Mercer County Technical Education Center. Six scholarships are awarded yearly from more than $45,000 granted since 1983. Sponsors giving $200 or more may display a banner approved by the Mercer County Board of Education. banners due by June 20. Event features Tennessee Walkers western ponies road ponies and other categories. Ken Mulkey chairs the 2000 show.

State Agency Adopts Safety Guidelines for New West Virginia Schools
The School Building Authority of West Virginia approved a safety design guide to constrain building counts and entrances, require security staffing, bus drop offs, limited pedestrian crossings, interior lockable zones, surveillance, and landscaping rules as part of revised regulations. The notice also includes court filings on a name change in Mercer County and public sale notices for a 1990 Ford Thunderbird, along with Virginia oil and gas operation filings and a Princeton zoning hearing notice for a special use permit.
