Roderfield man found guilty of involuntary manslaughter
Richard Jordan of Roderfield was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter for fatally striking Kevin England of Hensley with a metal pipe. The jury deliberated about an hour after Feb 19 attack. England died Feb 21 at Charleston Area Medical Center. Sentencing date pending.

House fire being probed as arson
Bluefield investigators probe an early Wednesday morning fire at 1140 Delaware Ave. that caused about 5000 dollars in damage to a vacant structure. Fire crews fought flames from 3 30 a m until about 5 a m as police note at least five separate fires and possible use of gasoline. no injuries reported. Detective Tyrone Miller leads the arson inquiry.
