Alleged liquor runners captured after mad chase
Two alleged Negro rum runners, Johnnie Marvely and Yancey Martle, were jailed in Princeton after a high speed 12 mile chase by three officers. A sedan eluded capture until officers shot rear tires. About 100 gallons of moonshine were seized after the pursuit from Oakvale through Princeton to Green Valley. The men fled the car but were caught on an embankment.

Deputies Break Picket Lines to Feed Striking Wire Mill Workers
Sixteen sheriff's deputies forced past picket lines to deliver food to 16 workers trapped in Wheeling Steel's wire mill near Portsmouth Ohio.
