The board certified assessments totaling 564,775,850 after defeating reductions proposed by State Auditor Lawson for United Fuel Gas and Kanawha Valley Water. The action sets final 1930 assessments with a total tax valuation increase of about 55,000,000. The railway assessment stood at 78,560,000, up 16,500,000 from 1929.
