In a rare consumer protection ruling, Judge Barthoff dismissed Pearson's suit against Soo Chung Jin Nam Chung and Ki Y Chung over a dry cleaning dispute. The court found the sign did not compel satisfaction of unreasonable demands and that Pearson failed to prove the missing pants were not the ones he brought in. Clerical costs of about $1,000 were awarded to the Chungs. The case, started in 2005, drew attention to litigation reform debates after failed settlements.
