Stocks Fall After Fed Cuts Rates by a Quarter Point
In New York the Dow dropped 98.32 points 1.1 percent to 9,011.53 as the Fed cut the federal funds rate to 1 percent 11-to-1 with Robert Parry dissenting for a larger cut. Nasdaq fell 2.95 to 1,602.66 S&P 500 down 8.13 to 975.32.

First Century Bank N A of Bluefield held a groundbreaking for a 6000 square foot Princeton office at 145 Springhaven Drive near Rt. 20 and Princeton Community Hospital. The site will employ at least nine staff, include three drive through windows and an ATM, with completion expected in late 2003 or early 2004. Corte Construction is the builder and the project mirrors a Wytheville design.
