Stocks Rally Despite Monday Selloff Boosts Dow and Nasdaq

For the session, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 153.80 to 7,758.06 as 1,781 issues advanced and 985 declined on the NYSE with 542.65 million shares traded. The S P 500 gained 17.72 to 896.34 and the NYSE composite up 7.68 to 466.17, while the Nasdaq composite jumped 18.11 to 1,452.43 reaching new highs on a strong tech sector.
