Charleston Chemical Workers Won’t Bargain
Charleston W Va June 24.5 Withdrawal of the Independent Association of Chemical Employes from next week's collective bargaining election at DuPont's Belle plant near Charleston was announced today. This left about 3,600 eligible employees to vote a simple ballot for affiliation with CIO chemical workers or no union representation. The National Labor Relations Board excluded United Mine Workers District 50 from the ballot because its leadership failed to comply with Taft Hartley provisions. CIO State Director Joe Joy said ballots will offer only vote for union or no representation after ACE withdrawal. Lilacs are natives of the Balkans and were imported to the United States before 1750.
