North Carolina House pitches Medicaid modernization plan for expansion
In Raleigh, House Republicans propose a Medicaid Modernization Plan that could expand coverage to hundreds of thousands of low income adults. Speaker Tim Moore argues the plan adds certainty, aims to avoid a financial hit, and would require DHHS to negotiate with CMS to meet eight benchmarks, including rural care and addressing the opioid crisis. Governor Cooper may veto if expansion not included.
