Old Company Records Sought By Pocahontas Centennial Organizers
Coal records from 1883 to 1950 are being sought for study and preservation by the Pocahontas Coalfield Centennial Celebration. Richard Fauss and Beth Hager spoke to the Bluefield Rotary Club, outlining plans for a museum and written history of the coalfield with WVU ties and library archiving support. They aim for a 1983 museum opening, with oral history and artifact inventories to follow, and invite contact via Bluefield City Hall.
