Renal dialysis patients plan Virginia tour from Mercer clinic

Fifteen teens from the Mercer County Health Center renal dialysis clinic will depart Thursday night for a Virginia trip visiting Busch Gardens Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. About 4000 dollars was raised by patients and supporters to cover the tour with 48 travellers plus family members. Nurses and a paramedic will accompany the group which returns Sunday.

Rain dominated the week with above normal temperatures across the state. Soil moisture ranged from adequate to surplus, aiding 3.5 days of field work as haying and gardening proceeded. Wheat barley and oats showed mixed good to fair conditions with varying head stages and ripe percentages, corn planting limited, tobacco set at 66 percent, and gardens fair to good amid dampness. rainfall totals ranged from a trace to 3.5 inches with cumulative spring rain exceeding 1980 levels in most stations.
