CCC to enroll 1100 new workers in West Virginia
Charleston commander Col Waldron said 1100 new CCC enrollees will be accepted from West Virginia between July 1 and July 15. Candidacy forms for West Virginia Supreme Court race in 1934
Charleston June 23 Walter Virgil Ross of Bluefield announced his candidacy for the state supreme court at the same hour he resigned as state manager of the Home Owners Loan Corporation. The 39 year old will seek one of two Democratic nominations at the state judicial convention in Clarksburg August 8. Matthew Edmiston of Buckhannon will succeed Ross as HOLC state manager on June 26. Ross said he could not serve both roles without compromising public confidence in HOLC. Fred L. Fox also announced his candidacy for one of the nominations. Other names mentioned include Frank Heymvend, A D Preston, James B. Riley and D H Hill Arnold. Republican judges M D Litts and Homer B Woods face renomination with parties to nominate August 1.
