Powell cautions on Hamas leader death hindering peace plan
Secretary of State Colin Powell said Israel's killing of Hamas leader Abdullah Kawasme could slow the U.S. backed road map for Middle East peace. He urged restraint and said the peace process must continue despite Hebron shooting. Powell spoke at the World Economic Forum gathering with UN chief Kofi Annan and Russian and Greek foreign ministers, as the Quartet pressed both sides to show restraint while negotiations proceed.
