Supreme Court Upholds Meadows Murder Conviction
The West Virginia Supreme Court in a 4-1 ruling affirmed David Meadows's first degree murder conviction for the 1979 killing of Gloria Hairston near Bluefield. The court found sufficient circumstantial evidence placing Meadows at the scene with a jealousy motive, while a separate ruling held that a divorced ex-spouse cannot have black lung benefits deducted from alimony without a court order.
