Lincoln County Deliberations Narrow to Charleston Nominating
Lincoln County remains the sole county without a final delegation for the state nominating convention at Charleston. The Boone and Greenbrier count ies have spoken, adding eleven delegates to the Scherr column and seven to Swisher. Boone’s five delegates were pledged for Secretary Swisher for governor amid some discontent. Greenbrier Republicans staged mass conventions, pledging votes for Auditor Swisher in all districts except one, aiding Swisher to win two delegates. Greenbrier has thirteen votes, Scherr eleven.
