Stocks Rally on Fed Report Boosts Wall Street Rally

Wall Street shares advanced on reports of a stronger regional Fed outlook and growing bets on an interest rate cut next week. The Dow rose 68.10 to 10,715.43 while the Nasdaq gained 27.52 to 2058.76 and the S&P 500 added 13.90 to 1237.04.

Judge allows Bristol fiber link while appeal proceeds

U S District Judge James P Jones ruled Bristol Virginia Utilities Board may continue linking customers to its fiber optic network as the Virginia Telecommunications Industry Association appeals a May ruling striking down a law banning municipally owned utilities from telecoms. The VTIA warns of irreparable harm without an injunction. Bristol already connects six private businesses and leases to Telos Communications.
