ER wait times vary as triage directs care regionwide
Bluefield Regional Medical Center and Princeton Community Hospital officials emphasize that unless a life threatening emergency, patients should expect to wait. The process starts with triage by Elaine Flinchum at PCH, classifying cases as emergent, urgent, or non urgent, then registration and placement in ER or Express Care. PCH sees about 40,000 patients annually with 110–120 daily, peaking on late Friday and Saturday nights.

Princeton Rescue Squad files contract complaint with MSBCBS
Princeton Rescue Squad filed a contract dispute complaint with the state insurance commission over a 25 percent pay cut in emergency ambulance fees and a requirement to sign a separate contract with Transcare Management Systems for non emergency transports in Pittsburgh. The squad argues MSBCBS defines emergencies by symptoms, not by state code, risking non payment if final diagnoses differ.
