Tazewell approves county salary restructuring plan
Tazewell County supervisors approved a salary restructuring that increases pay for most administrative staff to stabilize salary administration. The 4-1 vote, with vice chair Jerry Wood dissenting, sets new pay scales after an extensive 1996 survey. Several positions are covered, while constitutional officers and social services staff are excluded. The 1997-98 operating budget vote was postponed to June 26 and may adjust totals.
