City Sues Four Firms Over 110000 Chlorine Damage
Mercer Circuit Court sees a 110000 damage suit filed by the City of Bluefield and Bluefield Sanitary Board against Holley Kenney Schott Inc Christopher Construction BIF Capital Controls. Plaintiffs seek six percent interest from June 15 1977 for an explosion and chlorine release blamed on defendants engineering design subcontractor selection system design and equipment. Trial date not yet set.

Mrs Brown Wins Seal Contest At Richlands Fair
Mrs Alice C Brown of Cedar Bluff Va won the 32nd annual Richlands Fair seal contest with a design chosen as the official county seal. She received 100 from the Tazewell County Board of Supervisors. Brown, a psychology and sociology instructor at Southwest Virginia Community College, submitted two entries and expressed honor at the selection as a significant county contribution.

Two Juves Placed On Probation In Mercer Court
Two juveniles were placed on probation and two others turned over to the West Virginia Department of Welfare for placement during Mercer County Juvenile Court. A 15 year old Princeton boy was placed on one year probation for grand larceny of a motor vehicle. A 17 year old Princeton youth received one year probation for joyriding. A hearing on petit larceny and other charges was continued to July 2.
