Atomic energy salt helps doctors find heart trouble

The report from Chicago notes doctors at the American Medical Association meeting showcased a radioactive table salt method to detect heart issues. Myron Prinzmetal, Eliot Corday, Ramon Spritzler, and H C German from Cedars of Lebanon Hospital presented the technique which uses a pinch of radioactive salt injected into a vein or artery. X rays trace blood flow through the heart to reveal valve faults, enlargement, and pump failures, with ink records showing instant results. The method uses far less radiation than standard X rays and can indicate slow blood flow in legs and how medicines disperse in the body.
