Patrol lieutenant shows passion for fishing and leadership
Lt. Jonathan Hankins of the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office balances law enforcement duties with competitive bass fishing. He is a patrol lieutenant and accreditation manager, teaches at a state academy, and has earned honors such as Deputy of the Year in 2010 and a Medal of Valor in 2011. He began bass fishing as a teenager, progressed from co-angler to boater, and competes nationally, aiming higher in the FLW circuit while noting no off season.
