IRS offers tax relief for flood victims in West Virginia
The IRS extends filing and payment deadlines to Aug 15 for 15 West Virginia disaster counties. No interest or penalties accrue during the extension, and normal collection actions are paused for 90 days. DOH awards road contracts for Mercer and McDowell work
The Division of Highways awarded more than 1 million dollars in contracts for Mercer and McDowell counties as part of 125 miles of resurfacing announced by Gov. Bob Wise. West Virginia Paving, Inc. of Dunbar won a 128,199 project for 2.24 miles on County Route 28 Cheesy Creek Elgood Road, while a 639,530 contract for 4.72 miles on U.S. Route 52 Northfork Switchback Road went to West Virginia Paving. Additional Dunbar work totaling 311,855 covered 3.87 miles on WV Route 16 Bishop Squire Road. Wyoming County saw three awards: Lenore Asphalt for Pineville Rockville Road at WV Route 10 for 315,548. West Virginia Paving for Bell Schoolhouse Road for 119,834. and Lenore Asphalt for Oceana Toney Creek Road for 165,540.
