Officer not indicted for shooting death in Warman
Capt. Ron L. Blevins of the McDowell County Sheriff's Department will not face trial after the June term grand jury returned a no true bill on the shooting death of 31 year old Randy Scott outside his mother's Beech Hill home. Trooper B K Cochran reported the incident followed a report of breaking and entering. Scott reportedly pointed a shotgun at Blevins and War Mayor Wesley Miller. Blevins fired one shot, hitting Scott beneath the left arm. An investigation found Scott's blood alcohol was .27, over three times the legal limit.
